Nickychu Cosplay

TLG: How long have you been cosplaying?

Nickychu Cosplay: 8 years, I have just recently tho been focusing a lot more on it.

TLG: What made you decide to get into cosplay?

Nickychu Cosplay:  My friend introduced me when I was in middle school and I fell in love

TLG: Do you like video games? If so, what are some of your favorite video games?

Nickychu Cosplay:  I love them! I enjoy console gaming the most, one of my favorite game series is Gears of War. I also really enjoyed Lollipop Chainsaw, Dishonored, Oblivion, Fall out, Fry Cry. I could keep going all day.

TLG: What was the first cosplay you'd ever done? Tell us about it. Was it good?

Nickychu Cosplay:  The first cosplay I did was Sakura Haruno from Naruto. The first one I made though was Neru from Vocaloid. It was actually pretty terrible, I didn't really know how to sew and it didn't fit right and was kind of all over the place, I was still proud of it tho since it was my first made cosplay.

TLG: What is the most outrageous or ridiculous thing you've ever done?

Nickychu Cosplay:  I have done many crazy, ridiculous things. I can't even think of one moment, maybe that I love to hot glue literally everything.

TLG: Do you feel that cosplaying is competitive? Do you find yourself judging the other artists?

Nickychu Cosplay: No I don't really ever find myself judging another cosplayer/artist. I will give friends constructive criticism but that is about it. Cosplaying is such a huge love of mine and I see is as, as long as your having fun your doing it right. Now for competition and stuff I enjoy, its mainly all friendly and its fun to have your work compete against others in a positive way.

TLG: What do you enjoy most about cosplay?

Nickychu Cosplay:  What I enjoy most is challenging myself in each cosplay I do. Also the friends I make through cosplaying. I have made so many life long friends who have become like my family.

TLG: What is the hardest part about cosplay?

Nickychu Cosplay:  The hardest part I find is that sometimes the community it's self can be very harsh. I can also be a perfectionist when I make some of my cosplays.

TLG: What were your least and favorite costumes? Why?

Nickychu Cosplay: My least favorite cosplay was probably Ada Wong from RE, mainly because I bought it and it fit terribly. My favorite so far is Holo from Spice and Wolf, one because it was one I made and I just love the character, she is so cute and fun.

TLG: Do you currently make a living off of your cosplay? If not, do you plan to in the future?

Nickychu Cosplay:  No I do not make a living off my cosplays, but in the future it would be great though if that is where my cosplay career leads too. Making money off of being a cosplayer would just be a bonus tho, I could never just cosplay for the money because its such a passion of mine and its an award in itself.

TLG: What advice would you give to someone who has never done it before, but really want to get into it?

Nickychu Cosplay:  My advice would be first to have fun above all thing. Also to know your character is very important. When it comes to actual constructing the cosplay it always helps to have friends around to work with and get opinions from.
